In this ISTQB® seminar for advanced testers, the focus is on professional test methods. Besides static analysis techniques like reviews, you will learn various blackbox testing techniques and methods for the professional testing of specific quality attributes such as usability and security. Aiming at defect management, we will address how defects found in tests are documented, managed and removed. You will learn to control defects and to select and use various test tools. In addition, we focus on the teamwork and discuss skills and aspects of motivation and professional communication, which influence team selection and cooperation.
The course teaches the ISTQB® CTAL-TA (version 2019) curriculum in 3 days. After the training, you will be able to structure test activities from the business perspective, to analyze the test system in sufficient detail to meet the quality expectations of the users, to evaluate the fulfillment of technical requirements by the test objects, and to select the correct test techniques and tools. We will make sure that you can apply all the learned skills in your work as a test analyst. The course is accompanied by repetitions to the terminology of testing and its basics.

To obtain the certification as "ISTQB® Certified Tester Advanced Level - Test Analyst", the basic certificate "ISTQB® Certified Tester Foundation Level" requires at least 18 months of practical experience in software testing in addition to the successful final examination.

The DIN/ISO 17024 requirements stipulate that training companies cannot themselves provide the examination. An independent certification institute carries out the examination, not least to ensure the independent quality control of our training courses. We offer you the services of the certification institute so that you don’t incur the additional hassle of securing an examination appointment. We invoice the examination fee and organise your exam at the end of the course. You can simply focus on getting prepared.
In addition to their teaching work, all of our trainers have been and continue to be involved in projects, with each of them possessing more than 15 years of professional experience in various sectors. They have also all additionally acquired teaching qualifications. The participation in the exam is optional. We assume that you take the exam after the training course. However, please inform us during the course booking if you wish NOT to attend the exam.
The exam lasts 120 minutes and takes place on the last day of training directly after the on-site training. For online trainings, the exam is also conducted as an online exam. The independent certification body charges 250,00 Euro plus VAT for the examination, which we invoice together with the training course fee.

Arjan Brands is the diplomat among our trainers. As Managing Partner of trendig technology services GmbH, he is involved in projects, workshops and training courses around the world, and feels at home in three different languages: German, English and Dutch. Arjan has over 20 years of project experience in the areas of testing, agile methods (Scrum, Kanban), quality management, project leadership and project management, IT and test process assessments (TPI, SPICE, CMMI), requirements management and requirements design. Arjan has helped to co-develop several training courses focusing on requirements management, testing and agile methods, and, as an experienced assessor and mentor, is a much sought-after workshop coach and team coach.
From the automotive industry, energy sector, e-commerce, banking and insurance, through to pharmaceutical companies, the public sector, publishing companies, telecommunications and heavy industry, Arjan has a broad range of industry experience which he passes on through his training. Coupled with one or more anecdotes from his professional experience, which sometimes includes how to do things better, Arjan finds it important to impart knowledge in an informal atmosphere.
