In this seminar, we teach the content of the official ISTQB® Certified Tester Advanced Level – Test Analyst (CTAL-TA) Version 4.0 curriculum. Our trainers supplement the theory with numerous practical examples and exercises so that you can immediately apply what you have learned in your role as a test analyst.

3. Test design procedures for the ISTQB Test Analyst
In the focus module of the ISTQB Advanced Level Test Analyst seminar, you will deepen your knowledge of structured black-box test procedures in accordance with Curriculum 4.0:
- Data-based testing methods, e.g., value range testing, combinatorial testing
- Behavior-based testing techniques, e.g., CRUD testing, state transition testing, scenario-based testing
- Rule-based testing methods, e.g., decision table testing, metamorphic testing
- Experience-based methods, e.g., exploratory and checklist-based testing
You will learn how to select suitable test procedures in a risk-oriented manner and use them efficiently.

Prerequisites
For the participation in the training, concrete software knowledge and practical experience in IT projects are essential for a deeper understanding. To obtain the certification as "ISTQB® Certified Tester Advanced Level - Test Analyst", the basic certificate "ISTQB® Certified Tester Foundation Level" requires at least 18 months of practical experience in software testing in addition to the successful final examination.
exam & certification
The participation in the exam is optional. We assume that you take the exam after the training course. However, please inform us during the course booking if you wish NOT to attend the exam.
The exam lasts 90 minutes and takes place on the last day of training directly after the on-site training if there are enough participants. For online trainings, the exam is also conducted as an online exam. The independent certification body charges 260,00 Euro plus VAT for the examination, which we invoice together with the training course fee.
With online training, you can choose the day and time of the exam. You can take the exam in a Pearson Vue test center or online on the Pearson Vue exam platform. For this purpose, you will receive an exam voucher from us, which is used in the payment process when booking.
Please note, the ISTQB® CTFL certificate is mandatory to take the CTAL-TA exam. Non-native speakers are eligible for additional exam time.
